CREDO for Retired Clergy
CREDO for Retired Clergy is a specially designed eight-day conference tailored to clergy receiving a pension from the Church Pension Fund, whether or not engaged in compensated work inside or outside the Church after retirement. While the eight-day structure is the same as that used in the foundational CREDO I Conferences, the curriculum is shaped specifically to address vocational, spiritual, and financial needs and concerns of clergy in retirement as well as physical and emotional health. For many, this CREDO Conference has served as a vehicle of God’s grace that has helped them imagine and realize new possibilities in key areas of their personal and vocational lives.
Building upon the understanding that as a clergyperson, your vocation never ends, CREDO provides the time and space to explore how the expression—the incarnation of that vocation—is changing. Your eight days will consist of compelling presentations, quiet times for worship and reflection, opportunities for fun and laughter, workshops, and one-on-one consultations with faculty. The conference is an occasion to engage with colleagues in deep and meaningful ways in a beautiful and peaceful setting.
CREDO for Retired Clergy explores issues of identity and role, relationships, renewing and re-imagining vocational vision, physical and emotional health, aging well, living a life of generosity, personal financial planning, spiritual practice and discernment, nourishment of the soul, and the spirituality of vocation. The CREDO faculty’s objective is to focus on your well-being through their knowledge, experience, compassion, and care—helping you replenish your spirit and refresh your sense of being God’s beloved.
