CREDO I and CREDO² Conferences for Bishops

The CREDO I Eight-Day Conference is the foundational CREDO Conference that began in 1997 for Pension Plan participants and from which all CREDO Conferences have been designed. The eight-day conference begins on Monday afternoon, when you arrive at your conference center and embark on a journey that many participants have described as life-changing. The CREDO I Eight-Day Conference design and structure are the same for all age-specific groups. CREDO Conferences include a carefully crafted blend of learning opportunities and activities that support an experiential learning model and the holistic understanding of wellness that is the cornerstone of the CREDO process. The design seeks to honor each person and recognizes that participants have different needs and learning styles.

Throughout the week you will experience large group gatherings and the opportunity for more intimate discussions with a select small group. Participants learn through faculty-led workshops and plenaries, and many fully engage in one-on-one consultations with experienced faculty members. Interspersed with times of listening, questioning, and learning are quiet times for reflection, worship and contemplation. There is space for physical activity and relaxed socializing, and opportunities for fun, laughter, and joy. The CREDO Conference objective is to provide one with tools and time to focus on one's spiritual, vocational, financial, physical, and emotional well-being. With the accompaniment of an experienced faculty team, the conference becomes a true learning community through which all the participants share their knowledge, experience, compassion, and care with one another. A CREDO Conference will help you replenish your spirit and rediscover the passion that first animated your call to ministry.

The Eight-Day CREDO² Conference for Bishops

CREDO² builds on your experience in CREDO I and is available to active clergy five years after completing CREDO I. During the eight-day conference, participants engage in a deep discovery of the central and unifying theme of CREDO² —that of “Living with Integrity.” Integrity is the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished.

In the four component areas—financial, physical and emotional health (with two health faculty members), spiritual, and vocational—CREDO² participants explore what it means to live a life that is congruent with their values, beliefs, and faith—a life that is whole and holy.

As with CREDO I, you will arrive at the conference center on Monday afternoon and begin a personal journey that many participants have described as life-changing. You will  experience large group gatherings and small intimate discussions, one-on-one consultations and faculty-led workshops. Interspersed with times of listening, questioning, and learning are quiet times for reflection, worship, and contemplation; space for physical activity and relaxed socializing; and opportunities for fun, laughter, and joy. The CREDO² faculty’s objective is to focus on your spiritual, vocational, financial, physical, and emotional well-being through their knowledge, experience, compassion, and care—helping you replenish your spirit, discern your deepest dreams, and re-align the expression of your life with your most cherished values.
